- decree to rebuild Jerusalem

Ezra 7:11-28 - Ezra received a decree from King Artaxerxes to rebuild Jerusalem. According to the Jewish Encyclopedia, King Artaxerxes ascended the throne in 465 BC. According to Ezra 7:8, "And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which [was] in the seventh year of the king."

27 AD

- Jesus was anointed/baptized

 Daniel 9:24-25 " anoint the most Holy...the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks , and threescore and  two weeks ..."
7 weeks = (49 days/years)
threescore and  two weeks (62 weeks) = (434 days/years)
Total: 483 days/years,
457AD - 483 years = 27AD

31 AD

- the Cross

 Daniel 9:26-27 "And after threescore and two weeks shall, but not for the midst of the week He shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease..."

midst of the week = (3 1/2 days/years since 1 week = 7 days)
After the 69 weeks, there is 1 week left before the 70 weeks were completed. At the middle of this last week (7 years), Christ was to be cut off (crucified).

In the elaborate system of sacrifice that God gave to the Israelites, Christ was the center and antitype. All the ceremonies and symbols pertaining this are shadows that pointed to Christ when He will have to die for the sins of the world. Hence when Christ was crucified, all the sacrifice, oblation, feasts, ceremonies that were against us were nailed to the cross. Colossians 2:14

The priest is about to slay the victim; but the knife drops from his nerveless hand, and the lamb escapes. Type has met antitype in the death of God's Son. The great sacrifice has been made. The way into the holiest is laid open. A new and living way is prepared for all. No longer need sinful, sorrowing humanity await the coming of the high priest. Henceforth the Saviour was to officiate as priest and advocate in the heaven of heavens. It was as if a living voice had spoken to the worshipers: There is now an end to all sacrifices and offerings for sin. The Son of God is come according to His word, "Lo, I come (in the volume of the Book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will, O God." "By His own blood" He entereth "in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." Hebrews 10:7; 9:12. {DA 757.1}

 34 AD 70 weeks = 490 days/years ended in 34AD with the stoning of Stephen.

- the closing of the first period of the Christian Church, Ephesus.

 To the Church in her first stage -- the Church of Ephesus -- He says: "I have somewhat against thee because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works." This points definitely to the falling away that is mentioned by Paul to the elders of the Church at Ephesus (Acts 20 : 30), and that is again mentioned and dwelt upon by him in 2 Thessalonians 2, which falling away, when continued, developed "that man of sin," "the son of perdition," "who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped" -- the ecclesiastical State now under consideration. The time of this phase of the Church is by the letter itself, shown to be the days of the apostles, and therefore ended about A. D. 100. Alonso T. Jones, Ecclesiastical Empires, p 5

313 AD

- the closing of the second period of the Christian Church, Smyrna

     The letter to the Church in her second phase, is wholly commendatory. This shows that, while individuals had continued in the apostasy mentioned in the first letter, yet the Church herself had heeded the counsel given by the Head of the Church, and had repented and returned to "the first works." The time of this phase of the Church's experience is definitely suggested in the letter itself, by the statement that she should "have tribulation ten days."10 This refers to the ten years of persecution in the reign of Diocletian, from A. D. 303-313; which was ended by the Edict of Milan, issued by the two emperors, Constantine and Licinius, March, A. D. 313. Alonso T. Jones, Ecclesiastical Empires, p 5-6

10 Rev. 2: 10.

11"Great Empires of Prophecy," chap. xxviii, par. 9 to end.

508 AD

King Cloves of the Franks had become converted to Catholicism after he had destroyed the Goths. This gave Catholicism supremacy in Western Europe. Daniel 12:11-12, “And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed [is] he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.”
What does the “daily” mean? The "daily" is where they had set up paganism and mixed it with Christianity teachings so to have ecumenism. The “abomination of desolation” is where they set up Sunday worship over the Seventh Day Sabbath, which began the 1290 and the 1335 days / years.

538 AD

- the closing of the third period of the Christian Church, Pergamos

Therefore, the word "Antipas" -- "against `pas' or `papas'" -- shows the growth of the papa-cy in the period immediately following A. D. 313. This was the period of Constantine and onward, in which the papa-cy itself was distinctly formed. And history records that in that time, while the other principal bishops of the Church bore the title of "patriarch," the bishop of Rome studiously avoided that particular term, as placing him on a level with other "patriarchs." He always preferred the title of "papa," or "pope" (Schaff13): and this because "patriarch" bespeaks an oligarchical Church government -- that is government by a few; whereas "pope" bespeaks a monarchial Church government -- that is government by one.14 Thus the history, and the word of the counsel of Christ, unite in marking as the characteristic of that phase of the Church's experience, the formation of the papa-cy, and the assertion of the authority of the pope.   Alonso T. Jones, Ecclesiastical Empires, p 6-7

This is where the Antichrist Pope waged war against the saints of the Most High. Daniel 7:21, I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them.”  This started the 1260 day / years they persecuted the saints of God which ended in 1798 with the capture of Pope by French and taken back to France where the Pope would die in captivity. Daniel 7:25, “And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” Revelation 12:6, “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.”  Revelation 12:14, “And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.”

- the closing of the fourth period of the Christian Church, Thyatira

If the period covered by the Pergamos church has been correctly located, terminating with the setting up of the papacy, A.D. 538, the most natural division to be assigned to the church of Thyatira would be the time of the continuance of this blasphemous power through the 1260 years of its supremacy, or from A.D.538 to A.D.1798. Uriah Smith, Daniel and Revelation, p 387-391

If the dates of the preceding churches have been correctly fixed, the period covered by the church of Sardis must commence about the year 1798.  Sardis signifies "prince or song of joy," or "that which remains."  We then have before us, as constituting this church, the reformed churches, from the date above named to the great movement which marked another era in the history of the people of God. Uriah Smith, Daniel and Revelation, p 392-395

"In 1798 the French republican army under General Berthier took possession of the city of Rome, and entirely superseded the whole papal power. This was a deadly wound..." A Commentary and Critical Notes, by Adam Clarke, 1850. This fulfilled the 1260 days / years the saints would be persecuted for. The Bible says, And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” Revelation 13:3.

1843 & 1844

The first and second messages [Revelation 14:6-8] were given in 1843 and 1844, . . . {CTr 338.3}

As the ministration of Jesus closed in the holy place, and He passed into the holiest, and stood before the ark containing the law of God, He sent another mighty angel with a third message to the world. {EW 254.1}

"Our 150th anniversary is not a time for parties or celebration — those who founded the General Conference in May 1863 would have undoubtedly been deeply disappointed to know that their descendants would still be on earth in 2013. This important anniversary is rather a time for reflection; for repentance; for thanksgiving; and for renewed commitment to the purpose for which God called this movement into being." -- The Seventh Day Adventist Church

"Seventh-day Adventist leaders met in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1863 "for the purpose of organizing a General Conference,' the minutes from that meeting say. The meeting began on the evening of May 20, during which delegates chose a chairman and a secretary. During the Session, delegates drafted a constitution and bylaws. They also established top leadership, including a president, secretary and treasurer. Today, the same administrative structure remains at all levels of church administration." -- The Seventh Day Adventist Church

"The first session was held on May 20, 1863 in Battle Creek, Michigan with 20 delegates in attendance." Seventh-day Adventist Encyclopedia Vol 10., p.593-54

Manuscript 13, 1889 (MR #574, p 15-16): "The men in responsible positions have disappointed Jesus.  They have refused precious blessings, and refused to be channels of light, as He wanted them to be.  The knowledge they should receive of God...they refuse to accept, and thus became channels of darkness.  The Spirit of God is grieved."

 TM 468:  "The true religion, the only religion of the Bible, that teaches forgiveness only through the merits of a crucified and risen Saviour, that advocates righteousness by faith of the Son of God, has been slighted, spoken against, ridiculed, and rejected."

As they rejected the righteousness of Christ, refusing to believe that God's people could overcome all sin in this lifetime before Christ comes (see Acts of Apostles (AA), p 531), what did they do with the Revelation 18 message or the loud cry of the third angel?
"Taking up a Reproach" (published in the Brisbin Book p 10-11 and in "Some History, Some Experience and Some Facts" p 1, by A.T. Jones--NOTE: some reprints of this book do not include this):  "In 1888 in the General Conference held at Minneapolis, Minn., the angel of Rev 18 came down to do his work, and was ridiculed, criticized and rejected."

As for the voice of the General Conference, there is no voice from God through that body that is reliable. {17MR 178.1}

"It is the latter rain, the refreshing from the presence of the Lord, the loud cry of the third angel." {CET 177.2}

Revelation 13:16-17, "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Revelation 14:9-10, "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand." Matthew 24:30, "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

1000 Years

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Revelation 20:2-3, "And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season."

Revelation 21:1, 4, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
