Benjamin - 2nd son of Jacob to Rachel

Genesis 35:18, "And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, for she died that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin." 

  • Benjamin - the son of the right hand

Genesis 42:38, "And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave."

Jacob's words of blessings:
Genesis  49:27, "Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil."

Judges  20:13, " Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel." 

Judges 20:16, "Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss." 

2 Chronicles  17:17, "And of Benjamin; Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand."

Moses' prophetic words:
Deuteronomy 33:12, "And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders."

Nahum 1:3 "The LORD is slow to anger,.." 

Ephesians  5:27, "That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

Noted character in the Tribe of Benjamin:
1. Apostle Paul -
Romans  11:1, "For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin."

Acts  7:58, "And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul."

Acts 8:3, "As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison."

Acts  9:1, "And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord.."

1 Samuel 2:30, "But now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed."

Acts  28:3-6, "And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.  And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.  And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. 3. Saul -
1 Samuel 9:21, "And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?" 

1 Samuel 10:9,  "And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day."

2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 

1 Samuel 10:26, "And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched."

1 Samuel 15:23, "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king."

1. Esther 2:21-23 - saving the king of Persia. .
2. Esther 4:1-3; 6:1-11.- seeking for deliverance for the people of God against the plan of satan to destroy every believer.

Jeremiah 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
