Leviticus 24:6,  ”And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD.”

Leviticus 24:7, “And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD.”

Leviticus 24:8-9, “Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.”

There is always bread on the table the entire week – continual offering - Leviticus 24:8-9

The temporal and spiritual blessings come from God and is continually ever present before us

The bread 

Christ is the Bread of Life – John 6:35, John 6:51

Jesus is the Word – John 1:1

The bread is changed every Sabbath – Leviticus 24:8-9

It is during Sabbath that we lay our worldly and secular cares and take time to study the Word and let it enter “hot’ into our heart and then we hear the Lord speak to us.

The priest ate the bread on Sabbath – Leviticus 24:9

We take our time to eat the spiritual food on Sabbath to make us better fitted to meet the temptations for the week to come.

There were 12 bread in the table

The 12 tribes of Israel (One Church)

The remnant church consists of many members yet for one body – 1 Corinthians 10:17

ALTAR OF INCENSE

  • The altar of incense is made of shittim wood or the acacia tree - Exodus 30:1
  • 1 cubit long, 1 cubit wide and 2 cubits high. – Exodus 30:2
  • Overlaid with pure gold round about it. – Exodus 30:3
  • A golden crown at the top of it. – Exodus 30:3
  • Staves to carry it when its time to move the tabernacle to another place - Exodus 30 5
  • Placed beside the veil that divides the holy to the most holy place - Exodus 30:6
  • It is holy unto the Lord. Exodus 30:10
  • Only the high priest can do the duty of placing incense before the golden altar – Exodus 30:7-8

In our daily lives, we offer our petitions when we wake up in the morning and and in the evening.

The sweet fragrance of the incense

The fragranct incense of Christ’s righteousness that is added into our prayers so that they get answered according to the will of God.

Incense that goes with our prayer – Revelation 8:3-4; Psalms 141:2

The high priest was shielded by the cloud of incense – Leviticus 16:13

The repentant sinner is being covered by Christ’s righteousness – Isaiah 61:10

No strange fire allowed – Exodus 30:9

No strange doctrines, preachers, God and spirits – 1 Timothy 4:1-2

Incense burned continually

Continual prayers of God’s people coming up before the Lord day and night. – 1 Thesalonians :

Blood of sin offering was put  into the horns of the altar – Leviticus 4:7

Only through the blood of Christ is our prayers being answered.

Fire could also mean:
1. Word of God - Jeremiah 23:29, "Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD;
2. Holy Spirit - Matthew 3:1, "...he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:"
3.God’s Ministers - Psalms 104:4, "Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:"
4. God - Hebrews 12:29, "For our God is a consuming fire."

Matthew 12:45, “Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”  

Proverbs 28:9, “He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.”
